Films for Solidarity: a special edition of Chute & Friends in dedication to Deema and her family in Gaza.
Eight filmmakers, together with Chute Film and MasterLAV collective, have come together in a new edition of Chute & Friends dedicated to raising urgent funds for a family of eight in Palestine.
Programmed as an online screening and fundraiser in the wake of the ongoing genocide and devastation in Palestine, the goal is to support a family that has faced forced displacement multiple times, and to stand in solidarity with the strength and persistence they continue to show in the face of unimaginable hardship.
Films for Solidarity has been curated in collaboration with the participating artists, each of whom have generously contributed a film of choice, some of which will be screened for the first time. Scott Barley’s short film, Half Moon has previously not been released on streaming before. Bram Ruiter’s How Many Seas was deemed lost for the past 13 years and only recently got uncovered.
The screening can be accessed through a donation of any amount, with 100% of proceeds going directly to the GoFundMe fundraiser of Deema, run by a small group of volunteers.
For more information and updates on Deema's current situation, visit her GoFundMe page.
