Born out of the belief that collectivism is not a luxury but a means of survival, and being a film formation where these values form the foundation for shared commitment and unity, we proudly express our solidarity with all those who are resisting in the streets, squares and other spaces across our country. In light of recent developments in Türkiye, where collective action has become a nationwide imperative, we stand with our friends.

 

In these times when unity is essential to pave the way for collectivism to become a choice, we call upon the national and international film communities to support the movement and to amplify the voices of resistance.

 

In this context, we are making a slight change in the new edition of our monthly film program Chute Open. This second edition focuses on MOBESE live-streams, the surveillance systems installed in Istanbul, Ankara and other cities around Türkiye. These cameras are positioned in key locations, many of which are now witness to mass protests met with excessive state-supported police violence, and the revolt of a new, fearless, beautiful generation.
